TODAY'S WORD FOR Friday, March 30, 2018:

Our Lord’s Crucifixion and His Resurrection

And He (Jesus), bearing His cross, went out to a place called the PLACE OF THE SKULL, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him.
John 19:17-18a.

He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28:6.

But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
I Corinthians 15:20

It is good Friday and over two thousand years ago our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ went through the horrible agony of dying on the cross at Golgotha. Why did He have to die?

God sent His Only Son to this earth to be man so He could be sacrificed to pay the penalty for our sins. Because of the sins of Adam and Eve, we were all born sinners and the scripture is very clear when it says that the penalty for being sinners is death (Romans 6:23). Thus, God provided a way for us to pay the penalty of being sinners. It was the death of Jesus on the cross carrying all of our sins on Himself that cleanses us from all our unrighteousness and puts us in right standing with God.

In just three days after His Crucifixion Our Lord ROSE FROM THE DEAD. In just three days we will be celebrating EASTER --- the resurrection of our Lord. Jesus is alive today. He was resurrected from the dead. He intercedes with God the Father on behalf of us today. Because of His Resurrection we can have the following confidence:

We can be confident that our sins are forgiven. Jesus came into this world to give His life as a ransom for not only us but for all who will believe in Him and accept Him as their Savior. Through His death on the cross, the debt for our sins has been paid in full.

Secondly, we can have the confidence that the Lord is actively involved in our daily lives. Jesus promised that those who abide in Him and do His will would bear much fruit for God’s kingdom.

Thirdly, we can have confidence in what Jesus spoke concerning the power of prayer. We can be assured that our petitions will be heard and answered, when our requests are in accordance with His will.

And finally, we can have confidence that Jesus gave His word that He is preparing a place in heaven for us to spend eternity with Him.

The message of Easter gives us the complete confidence that we serve a risen Savior.

Have a BLESSED EASTER and remember -- HE IS RISEN!

Our memory verse for this week is found in Psalm 118:24.

This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Thank You Dear Lord, for dying on the cross to save me from my sins and paying my penalty of death. Thank You that You are my Risen Savior and alive today interceding for me before my heavenly Father. Help me to give You my full allegiance and to honor You by being obedient to Your commandments every moment of every day.
