TODAY'S WORD FOR Monday, January 20, 2020:

An acquired pattern of behavior that has become almost involuntary as a result of frequent repetition; customary practice or use.

Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Colossians 3:10.

We saw on the internet a study done on the psychology of entrepreneurship. They interviewed 21 billionaires and found out that they all had the same six core habits. They all wake up early in the morning; they keep healthy and exercise regularly; they are avid readers; they take time to contemplate and think; they develop routines and rituals and they practice discipline and self-control.

Being a billionaire is overrated, but building a biblical life style is vastly underrated. A godly lifestyle will prove to be of uncalculatable value that will stand the test of time. Some of the habits, we as believers in Jesus, must emphasize in order to strengthen our lives are:  Improve the stewardship of our time; regular periods of rest; healthier communication with those we love; less screen time (TV); Exercise; nutrition.

In addition, we must develop our daily habits of reading God’s Word, praying to our God which is our communication with Him and meditating on what we read in the Bible.

All of these are habits and habits are like spaceships. It takes a lot of time and energy to launch them, but once they are in orbit their momentum becomes natural. Do not be discouraged. Work on developing positive habits today. Write down on a piece of paper all of the habits you want to develop. You can begin with those we have written above. Work daily then on a new habit every day. Review each day the habits you have been working on and then see what God will produce in your life.

Watch out for complacency. It is a deadly foe that you must fight daily. It is a strong foe for all spiritual growth. Sincere desire must be present in your life or there will be no manifestation of Christ apparent to those you are around daily.

Our memory verse for this week is found in II Timothy 4:8.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Help me today, dear Lord, to develop habits that will help me to be more Christ-like and an example to my family and to those that I meet daily.
