TODAY'S WORD FOR Thursday, December 12, 2019:

DIRECTION

DefinitionDEFINITION:

An act or instance of directing; instruction or guidance for making or using.

ScriptureSCRIPTURE:

In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me.
Psalm 86:7

I will guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.
Proverbs 4:11.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Have you been seeking the Lord’s guidance on a particular issue but still can not understand what God would have you do? We do not always understand why God doesn’t make everything clear when we ask for His help. Here are several things that can prepare you to hear His direction.

You need to ask God if there is anything in your life that is hindering your prayers. If He brings something to your mind you can receive cleansing through confession (I John 1:9).

If you have not fully yielded yourself to the Lord, your heart will remain set on your own desires. When that is the case, you will have difficulty perceiving His will (James 4:3).

God is committed to answering our prayers if we ask according to His will. We must carefully consider if our requests align with His desires as revealed in the scriptures (I John 5:14-15).

Since God’s Word is a light to our path, the more we think about the truths of the scriptures, the clearer the way will become (Psalm 119:105).

God promises to act on the behalf of those who wait. We must resist the urge to run ahead of Him by trying to fix the situation ourselves or manipulate circumstances to get our desired outcome (Isaiah 64:4).

Do not let uncertainty cause you to become anxious or fearful. Look at your situation as an opportunity to trust God who always works everything for your good (Romans 8:28).

LEARNINGLEARNING:

Our memory verse for this week is found in Psalm 34:1.

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth.

PRAYERPRAYER:

Help me to take time each day to read Your Word and to seek Your direction in all my decisions and in all that I do. Thank You that You hear me when I call upon You and will answer me and guide me on right paths.
