TODAY'S WORD FOR Friday, September 27, 2019:

A method, plan or means to attain a goal.

Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; on You I will wait all the day.
Psalm 25:4-5

In order for you to know someone intimately, you can’t just know what they do, you must know their character and their heart. You have to know what motivates him or her. The same is true for God. Many people will say that they know about God but they do not know God. It is so sad that these people are satisfied just knowing a few things about God. God wants us to truly know and love Him.

Here are six reasons we have put together showing that we should know God’s ways:

First, the ways of God are essential in knowing Him. By learning the ways of God, we can get to know God’s heart. Life’s greatest pleasure for a believer in Jesus is to know God personally and intimately.

Secondly, God requires us to know His ways. Deuteronomy 10:12 tells us that God requires us to fear Him, walk in all His ways, and love Him. God will help us understand His ways since He requires us to know them.

Thirdly, it is the yearning of God’s heart that we know His ways. God desires our daily fellowship and that should motivate us to seek Him more.

Fourthly, God loves us and that is enough of a reason to know His ways. God is all knowing and loves us and desires the best for us. He wants us to know that His ways are so much better than our ways and it will be the only way we will have true and lasting happiness.

Fifthly, God’s ways are the best ways for us. God will guide us and will give us the strength and wisdom to face our circumstances in a godly manner and not our way.

Sixthly, God’s ways are our pathway to success. What is real success? The world’s definition involves wealth and power, but true success is godly living. When we imitate God’s ways, He blesses us above and beyond our imaginations.

Our memory verse for this week is found in Ecclesiastics 12:1.

Remember now your creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them.”

Help me today to put Your ways ahead of mine. Speak to my heart today and lead me in paths of righteousness that I may know Your ways and eliminate my earthly ways.
