TODAY'S WORD FOR Tuesday, September 10, 2019:
Being closely connected with God; being intimately familiar with.
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
And this is eternal life that they know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
What does it mean to know God! Man is not capable of knowing God because we all have sinned. Sin separates us from God. In order to know God, we must first accept God’s gift of redemption for our sins which He gave through His Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life on the cross.
After Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell those who accept Jesus as their Savior.
God gave us His written Word, the Bible to guide us and to teach us about Himself. God is not a far-off deity who just created us and left us in this world to fend for ourselves. He created us to have a relationship with Him. He desires us to know Him.
The Lord places those who know Him under His divine protection. When we are in a right relationship with our Lord and walking in obedience and submission, He determines the limits of our trials and suffering. This does not mean that He will remove all pain and trouble from our lives, but He will guard us through it.
God is always available when we turn to God. Nothing is beyond His control, and He is ready to hear our concerns and requests when we come to Him in prayer. Whatever our needs may be, He has provided assurances and promises for us in His Word.
To truly know the Lord, we must trust Him at all times. We must ask God to remove any sin in our lives. From time to time we need a cleansing. Look to the Lord because He is the only true source of redemption.
If we truly know the Lord we must pray for revival. The world has turned away from God. Most people do not really know God. The only solution for our world to know the Lord is to pray for revival and it must begin in our lives and spread to our family, friends, neighbors and our world that we live in daily.
Our memory verse for this week is found in I Corinthians 15:58.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Help me to be an example to my family, friends and all I meet today of a person that knows Jesus. Give me a new burden of prayer so that I can pray for revival and reach out to the world around me to win them to the Lord.
