TODAY'S WORD FOR Wednesday, June 12, 2019:

Highly pleasing; giving; enjoyment or joy.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:2.

And his heart took delight in the ways of the Lord.
II Chronicles 17:6a

Delight means to experience great pleasure and great joy in your life. Are you experiencing a “DELIGHTFUL LIFE? As being a follower of Jesus, we should daily experience delight in knowing Him as our Savior, in reading His Word and spending time in His presence in prayer. To delight in the Lord means to find satisfaction and joy in His presence.

In the verse we have put above (Psalm 37:4) it tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our heart. If we choose to delight ourselves in God’s way, we will find joy and peace beyond what we can imagine. Delighting in the Lord results in putting Christ in the primary position in our life. The problem that many believers have today is that Christ is second place in many situations and that is not acceptable to our Lord.

Taking delight in the Lord means that our heart truly finds satisfaction and worth in Jesus.

Delighting ourselves in the Lord is to “Love the Lord with all your heart” Matthew 22:37. The best part is knowing that when we delight in the Lord, the Lord delights in us. Psalm 18:19 says that He delivered me because He delighted in me. Proverbs 15:8 says that God delights in the prayers of the upright and I Kings 10:9 tells us: “Blessed be the Lord, your God, who delights in you.”

A DELIGHTFUL LIFE demands from us --- prayer, reading God’s Word and meditating in His Word to bring us into a close relation with our Lord and Savior.

Our memory verse for this week is found in I Corinthians 3:11.

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Help me to spend more time reading Your Word, praying and meditating in Your Word so that I can delight in You and you will give me the desires of my heart. Help me to be more Christ like and through my words and deeds others will be drawn to You.
