TODAY'S WORD FOR Tuesday, June 11, 2019:

FORGIVEN

DefinitionDEFINITION:

To grant pardon for a sin or offense.

ScriptureSCRIPTURE:

For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Are you forgiven? Have you thought about what it means to be forgiven?

Forgiveness takes a deliberate act of love, mercy and grace. Forgiveness is a release or a dismissal of and act of wrong doing. The forgiveness that comes from God is the release sinners can have from God’s penalty for sin. We are all sinners. Forgiveness is necessary for our salvation.

The wonderful news is that because of God’s character and nature, He desires to forgive us. God made forgiveness possible for us through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus completed His work, paying the penalty for our sins, on the cross. When we ask God to forgive us for our sins and accept His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, He not only considers our sin debt paid in full but He wipes our record clean. “As far as the east is from the west has He removed our sins from us” Psalm 103:12.

Today receive these truths: Jesus took our guilt and shame upon Himself, and gave us His righteousness in return. In Jesus we are redeemed and forgiven. There is no longer any condemnation for us to face.

You can put down a heavy sin burden and come freely to God. You stand clean and washed and made new before God.

The price has been paid!
The way has been made!
You are forgiven!

LEARNINGLEARNING:

Our memory verse for this week is found in I Corinthians 3:11.

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

PRAYERPRAYER:

Thank You, dear Lord, for Your forgiving heart. Thank You for sending Your Son to this earth and to die on the cross to pay the penalty of my sins. Help me to share the good news of the gospel to those around me this day.
