TODAY'S WORD FOR Thursday, June 06, 2019:

A muscular organ that receives blood from the veins and pump it through the arteries to oxygenate the blood during its circuit; the center of emotion; feeling affection.

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, unto the Lord!
Psalm 27:14

A strong heart is life to the body. The heart is the part of your inner self where thoughts, attitudes and courage reside.

Are there days when you find yourself a little faint of heart? Do you feel like your courage is spent? Do your circumstances require a special push that you are not sure you possess? There is an answer for you in the Word of God. Very simply --- If you want your heart to be strengthened, the answer is to wait before the Lord. Read the verse again that we have put above from Psalm 27:14.

When seeking to hear from God, listening is a critical element that many believers neglect. It is vital for you to unplug or shut out the distractions of the world, and give your all to meet with God. If you are impatient, you will need to develop patience. Without waiting to see what God wants to show us, we will begin to wither. The world is so evil today that we cannot make it on our own. We simply must connect with God because He is our only source of strength and stability.

We are reminded again that I Kings 19:12 describes God’s voice to Elijah as a “still, small voice” or as a “gentle whisper.” Many times, God speaks to us but we are not tuned in. Our thoughts are miles away from listening for God to speak.  What should you listen for while you are waiting on God? Listen for a nudge from your conscience, a random thought that comes to your mind, a suddenly recalled scripture verse, an inner feeling. The key is taking time to listen.

Do not fill your prayer time with a lot of talking. You need to learn to be quiet, listen, and wait for His reply. The Bible promises that if we seek Him, we will find Him. Expect to hear from the Lord as you wait on Him today. He will strengthen your heart.

Our memory verse for this week is found in Acts 4:12.

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Help me to be aware of the presence of Jesus in my life wherever I am and in whatever I am doing. Help me to communicate to God with specifics by prayer and then learn to wait for Your grace to unfold and work in my life.
